Do I string my Gremlin brand guitar with regular strings?

I just received a 1/2 size Gremlin brand guitar; model G12S. It has
strings, but they are pretty worn out. So when changing them, must I
get a certain type of strings (nylon or some kind of flamenco) or can
I use regular acoustic strings? Thanks.
